MY LAI MASSACRE TOUR ITINERARY

Geographically, My Lai village, located in the Son My commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province of central Vietnam (150 km from Da Nang), marked a turning point in American military history as well as how the public saw the U.S.-Vietnam War. So, My Lai town has gained notoriety as a result of the widespread killing of civilians during the US-Vietnam War.
So, the troops of Charlie Company, 11 Brigade, American Division, reached the village of My Lai on March 16, 1968 and at that time they really angered and frustrated. In search of Viet Cong personnel, some American soldiers believed that some of the Liberation Troops were sheltering there under the villagers’ protection.
So, over 300 unarmed civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, were massacred as a result of the “search and destroy” expedition. The fact that Lt. William Calley gave the command for his men to come in and fire into the village.
On arrival, you can visit the museum, interact with the people, and take a tour of the village on this day excursion from Da Nang or Hoi An to the ancient My Lai site. Therefore, you can know a lot about this massacre and how eager Vietnamese people wish for freedom and independence.
